Dike, Uzoma Amos (Rev. Dr.)

Uzoma Amos Dike is a Nigerian from the Igbo descent. She holds a PhD degree in Religious (Old Testament) studies from University of Nigeria Nsukka; a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Religious Studies at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), with expertise in Religion (Old Testament), Gender studies and the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Higher Education, Research and Community Services. Before joining the university in 2017, she served as a lecturer (2010-2017) at the Theological College of Northern Nigeria Bukuru, Plateau State and Minister of the Word and Sacraments in the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria.

Her academic journey has been marked by numerous distinctions, including scholarships from the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria and the Harry Boer Scholarship Foundation. She was honored as Best Graduating Student at Hugh Goldie in 2002 and received awards of excellence in Old Testament and Hebrew studies. In 2005, she was named Best Student in Biblical Studies at TCNN.

Uzoma is a member of various professional and academic associations such as Institute of Biblical Scholarship in Africa, Circle of Concerned African Women Theologians (CCWAT), the Nigerian Association for Biblical Studies (NABIS), Biblical Research Forum of Nigeria (BRESFON), among many others. Through these bodies, she showcases her socially and academically impactful research(es) in national and international conferences and workshops. Her works have been published in various peer-reviewed journals and books. She currently lectures in the department of Religious Studies at National Open University of Nigeria.

Uzoma has contributed significantly to university administration having served and still serving in various faculty and departmental committees, Faculty Representative to the NOUN Centres and Directorates. She has also served the Christian Fellowship of NOUN as the Assistant General Coordinator. She is a member of the ASARPI Innovative Entrepreneurs which she participates in actively. She is currently working on a project that aspires to woo the financial support of ASARPI and her partners to encourage Idima Abam women entrepreneurs in casava farming initiative.
