In 2023, ASARPI developed a rapid topical appetizers round robin model for briefing foreign dignitaries such as ministers of foreign affairs visiting Mauritius about Indian Ocean Region affairs in the midst of global affairs, already adopted by a now former South African Minister of Foreign Affairs in her briefing requirements in SA diplomatic missions around the world. As well, in the same year, ASARPI established a human rights oriented training institute for all vocations and disciplines: ASARPIversity; plus a Study-Practice monitored social responsibility tourism platform: ASRAT — ASARPI Social Responsibility African Tours, operating in several Southern African (SADC) nations; the Study-Practice Group for Innovative African Entrepreneurs and Small Business Owners such as A to Z Personal and Home Service Providers (beginning in Windhoek); AAFIP — ASARPI African/Diasporas Fundraising Initiatives Program; and our Peace Listening, Nothing Wasted in Africa: Recycling Entrepreneurship, and Cross-national Multicultural Restorative Justice in African Slavery Legacy and Other Multiracialized Societies Study-Practice Groups.
In 2025 we launched ASARPI Publications, our e-book, journal and blog publishing platform. In 2026 we designed the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) Research Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, which offers a new model of diversity and inclusion in education, employment and entrepreneurship as lifelong learning skills in Africa, formulated in the cross-continental ASARPI Formerly "TVET" Study-Practice Group.
In 2025–2027 we launched or are launching Study-Practice Groups addressing issues such as alternative and renewable energies, futures of authentic multiracialized democracies, digital technologies, disability, good diverse and inclusive governance, public health and social innovations.
In early January of 2024, ASARPI became a member of the Global South Centre of Excellence @ Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS), New Delhi, India, at the invitation of the Prime Minister of India through the Indian Ministry of External Affairs and the India High Commission in Mauritius. ASARPI is the first Indian Ocean Region RIS member and one of several in Africa of this emerging network of significant Global South think tanks. We will soon be co-hosting an African–Arab Middle Eastern Studies Webinar Series on cross-regional collaborative solutions to pressing quality of life issues with a leading Middle Eastern research center.
Besides Study-Practice Groups, ASARPI, through its distinguished virtual global pool of best practice experts, offers consulting services such as board and staff training, organizational strategy, risk management, conflict resolution, human capital strategies, organizational leadership coaching, monitoring and evaluation services, and in other organizational management areas.
We also serve as a broker and coach for African and African Diasporas grassroots community-oriented leaders interested in receiving funds from individual and corporate African, Asian and especially American investors (also coached) interested in identifying and subsidizing sustainable developmental empowerment projects, such as our ongoing local girls and women entrepreneurship initiatives (through our Innovative African Entrepreneurs Study-Practice Group) and our local community social and economic developmental empowerment zone initiative.
In 2026, as Director of ASARPI, due to the growing eminence of the think tank, Prof. John was elected as a Fellow of the august Mauritius Institute of Directors and appointed as an International Channel Partner of the Mauritius FinClub, which finds alternative investors for entrepreneurs in Mauritius.
As a comparative historical sociologist of knowledge, for decades, since graduate school, I have been interested in the racialization of education in Africa and in the Global African Diaspora and its deracialization and empowerment. In 2022, ASARPI was registered in Windhoek, Namibia, and has active partnerships with two Namibia based training institutes and with the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST). These partnerships stem from our ongoing WhatsApp Group / Zoom Study-Practice Group involving educational institutional leaders and policy makers representing six African countries interested in developing models integrating vocational, liberal arts and professional schools education, enhancing employment and entrepreneurship lifelong skills in the evolving digital technology world needing much more cultural embeddedness and contextualization. Our first three products are: the 2025 design of the NUST TVET Research Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship; the 2026 development of an academic credentials topping-up program for nursing students in Namibia in Mauritius based UK nursing programs, soon to be offered to learners in other fields and expanded to the United States; and 2026 local community micro-factory based education diploma programs with tertiary institution transfer credits and profit sharing with the ASARPI Social Responsibility Organization NGO, registered in Namibia in 2026.
Since ASARPI is a private company think tank, the ASARPI Social Responsibility Organization, our NGO, is established to:
- 1.To receive profit-sharing funds from cross-national ASARPI branches' sustainable economic and education activities involving vocational and university, business and local micro-manufacturing partners which credential workers for academic advancement and produce and sell consumer products such as smart phones and electrical vehicles, and to redistribute such funds through NGO board selection processes to award deserving local quality of life addressing non-profit organizations such as youth and older persons care, food, shelter, education access and civic engagement. The NGO monitors the impactful purpose of distributed funds.
- 2.Receive, administer and invest cross-national ASARPI individual donations, grants, contracts and fellowships requiring nonprofit status.
A parallel NGO is being established in South Africa, addressed in Cape Town.
